Fun with slots, sadness with horses

My husband Randy, just had a birthday on the 20Th and our friend Alan had one on the 22ND. We always celebrate the day in between the two, and this year, we went out all by ourselves. No kids!!!!!!!!
We had a terrific time playing slots. I tried to take a picture of the slots and such, but was told I couldn't. I was informed it is to protect the privacy of the 'players'. Whatever! I promised I wouldn't tell Jane, that Tarzan was there with his mistress Bimboette, but they started to get mad, so I relented. Party Poopers!
I also have to warn you that the last few pictures are of a very sad occurrence. On the 8Th race, I had bet on the #7 horse to win. I wanted to go outside and take pictures of them, before hand. Little did I know, that my horse would end up dying and I would have the very last pictures ever taken of the poor thing. It made me cry, after I found out what had happened.
A lot of the horses get drugged before they run, and I believe that is what happened here. The poor thing had a massive heart attack and died right on the track. Tracy and I cried so hard, it's not fair, is it?
I also thought it was illegal to drug them and it wasn't done anymore. Talk about being naive.

Our friends Alan & Tracy, who by the way, won $480.00. You would think she'd share the wealth, but NOOO!

A view of the horses after the race
This is the first horse I bet on, it lost as did all the others I bet on.

A picture of the race board, I think it's neat, how you sit inside and watch the races on a t.v. and get to see the results, posted on this big thing!

These are the horses from the 8Th race, I went out to take pictures of them, I'm glad I did, for the 7 horse died of a massive heart attack on the track. All joking aside, this is the horse I bet on to win, he was in the lead, when he went down.

In the background, the horse in the stall is #7, who is the one who died.

OMG, that is so sad!!! That must have been really hard to see in person, esp knowing you had just taken a pic of the horse.

With that aside, I'm glad you had a good time with your friends! I have to tell you that at first instead of reading that your husband's b-day WAS the 20th, I read it that he was having his 20th birthday and I was thinking "wow, she hit the jackpot marrying a young hottie"!! It's Monday morning and I haven't had my coffee yet. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

That looks like fun! I like when you post pics of the family! Hey, my card voting starts today at Hallmark-not the big contest but the small one. Isnt that heritage program funny? Rod Stewart? He's my husbands favorite singer!
